ABERDEEN MAN ASSAULTS MOTHER AND POLICE, ORDERED TO DO UNPAID WORK
Robbie Jennings, aged 26, from Danestone Place, was involved in a series of violent behaviors this year.He first attacked his own mother after she requested him to lower his loud music.
According to court reports, Jennings had been playing loud beats late at night from his bedroom when his mother asked him to turn it down, prompting him to threaten, "He stated he would smash her kneecaps." Later, around two hours after his mother turned off the electricity in his room, Jennings became even more aggressive.
He ran out of his bedroom and tried to restrain his mother, punching her in the back and attempting to kick her.
He pushed her into a wall before police arrived to arrest him.
During the police intervention at the police station, Jennings refused to comply, was topless but refused to remove his lower clothes for safety reasons, and began kicking out at officers.
As officers left his cell, he lunged at the door and punched two officers.
Jennings admitted to assaulting his mother and police officers earlier this year, as well as uttering offensive remarks to officers, and was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work within a year.
Additionally, he will be supervised by the social work department for 18 months.
The court noted his previous record, which includes two police stand-offs in the past, and his attorney claimed his actions were a breakdown of his mental health while under the influence of alcohol.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin described his sentencing as an alternative to custody, emphasizing the unpaid work and supervision order.
