RILEY MCCORMICK SENT TO JAIL FOR ATTEMPTING TO DRUG WOMAN
AN ANDOVER sex offender has been jailed after he attempted to drug a woman and sexually abuse her.Riley McCormick, of Pilgrims Way, appeared at Salisbury Crown Court on January 23 where he was sentenced to 21 months in prison.
The 26-year-old was convicted following a trial at Winchester Crown Court.
A jury found him guilty of attempting to intentionally cause a woman to take Flubromazolam, a drug used to treat panic disorders, anxiety and insomnia, without her consent – with the intention of overpowering her to engage in sexual activity on March 7, 2021.
He also disclosed private sexual photographs without the woman’s knowledge with the intent to cause distress on February 22, 2021, and breached a non-molestation order imposed by North Hampshire Magistrates' Court on three occasions.
The judge ordered that McCormick would be on the sex offenders register for 10 years and imposed a restraining order for seven years.
He must also pay a victim surcharge of £156.
