SCOTTISH DOCTOR STRUCK OFF FOR SEXUAL MISCONDUCT TOWARDS STAFF
A medical professional identified as Dr Richard Mbamali, who graduated in medicine in 2015 from Charles University in Prague, has been disqualified from practicing medicine due to a pattern of sexually inappropriate behavior while working at two Scottish hospitals and previously at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire. An official tribunal reported that Mbamali made offensive comments to staff, including telling a nurse to "lift up her skirt" and commenting on her "tanned, lean physique." He also made similar remarks to a student nurse, questioning her about her appearance and making inappropriate comments about a patient.
The tribunal detailed that Mbamali’s misconduct included repeated sexually motivated verbal comments, which escalated to exerting physical force.
His actions were deemed a serious breach of professional standards and involved abusing his position of trust.
Despite being dismissed from his Scottish roles, he did not disclose these incidents to his subsequent employers in England.
The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service concluded that his misconduct was entirely incompatible with continued registration, and only erasure from the medical register would ensure public confidence and uphold professional standards.
A spokesperson for NHS Grampian emphasized that sexual misconduct is not tolerated within their organization and is taken very seriously.
