EX-TEACHER RICHARD KING JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE
A former educator has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting three boys during the 1970s and 1980s.Richard King, aged 70, who authorities identified as a primary school teacher, denied the allegations but was convicted after a court trial.
Police reports indicated that he abused boys between the ages of seven and 13 during camping trips.
Residing on Marlborough Road in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, King received the sentence at Nottingham Crown Court for one count of attempted serious sexual offence and five counts of indecent assault.
Authorities revealed that the incidents took place in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but police only arrested King in August 2016 after one victim came forward, leading to further victims being identified.
Det Con Nicola Limbert commented: "King committed some horrific crimes, completely abusing his position of trust.
We're really pleased with this sentencing result as it shows how seriously these crimes are taken no matter how long ago they happened."
