MAN JAILED AFTER GROOMING GIRLS ONLINE
A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after engaging in online grooming of three young girls.Richard Jackson communicated sexually explicit messages to the victims from 2020 to 2022, urging them to partake in sexual acts and encouraging them to send photos of themselves.
Law enforcement officials uncovered a significant number of graphic Snapchat messages directed at one of the girls, in which Jackson suggested he knew she was only 14 and mentioned he was ‘willing to wait’.
The case was initially opened in May 2021 after the parents of one of the girls found Jackson’s messages on her device, leading to his arrest.
In March of this year, Jackson, residing on Caversham Way in West Hallam, faced 18 charges including three counts of sexual communication with a minor, three counts of inducing a child to participate in sexual acts, eleven counts of possessing indecent images of a child, and one count of exposing a child to a sexual image.
Jackson pleaded guilty to all charges and appeared before Derby Crown Court on August 4, where he received a prison sentence of four years and nine months.
