A disturbing case involving a Romanian grooming operation has culminated in the conviction of five individuals for their roles in sexually exploiting vulnerable women in Dundee. The group, which included four men and one woman, was found guilty of numerous serious offences, including multiple counts of rape, after an extensive investigation into their criminal activities within the Tayside region.
Among those convicted were Marian Cumpanasoiu, aged 37, Remus Stan, aged 34, Catalin Dobre, aged 44, Cristian Urlateanu, aged 41, and Alexandra Bugonea, aged 34. All five denied any involvement or wrongdoing during the trial, which was held at the High Court in Glasgow. Despite their denials, the jury found them guilty of the charges brought against them.
