REGAN MANN FROM BROWNHILLS SENTENCED FOR GROOMING AND RAPE OF UNDERAGE GIRL IN WOLVERHAMPTON

A man from Brownhills, Regan Mann, has been sentenced to over a decade in prison after being found guilty of serious sexual offenses involving a young girl. Mann, aged 20 at the time of sentencing, was handed a prison term of 10 years and six months during his appearance at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday, 16 September. In addition to his custodial sentence, he received a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which is designed to restrict his contact with potential victims and prevent further offenses. Mann was also subjected to a restraining order that prohibits him from making any contact with the victims involved in the case.

Prior to sentencing, Mann had entered a guilty plea to two counts of rape and one count of abduction. The charges stem from a disturbing series of events that unfolded when Mann initiated contact with a girl under the age of 13 through the social media platform Snapchat. He then arranged to meet her in person on 19 March. The young girl, who was underage, was accompanied by a friend of similar age during the meeting. Mann took both girls to his residence in Brownhills, where the crimes occurred.

Detective Constable Lucy Simpson, a member of the Complex Child Abuse Investigation Team, provided a statement emphasizing the gravity of Mann’s actions. She said, “Mann took advantage of his young victim, groomed her online and then arranged to meet up with her. She thought he was 14 or 15, but in reality, he was 19. Despite knowing she was underage, he didn’t care.”

DC Simpson expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the case, stating, “We are pleased with the sentence. This sends out a clear message that people who behave in this appalling way will be caught, convicted and will spend many years behind bars.” She also highlighted the bravery of the two young girls who provided crucial evidence, saying, “The two girls have been very brave in providing evidence which has helped to successfully convict Mann. We hope their bravery encourages other people subjected to sexual abuse to come forward.”
