KNOWSLEY MAN CHARGED WITH 23 CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A Knowsley man has been charged with 23 child sex offences which happened more than 20 years ago.In June last year, Merseyside Police received a report that a man had engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 14 years in the Merseyside and Greater Manchester areas between 2000 and 2009.
In December, following an extensive investigation, 71-year-old Raymond Walter Myers was charged with 23 child sex offences.
Myers, of Trent Place in Rainhill, has been charged with seven counts of Indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, two counts of Assault a girl under 13 by penetration with a part of your body/a thing, four counts of Assault a girl under 13 by touching, four counts of Sexual assault on a female, four counts of Rape of a girl aged 13/14/15, and two counts of Assault a female 13 and over by penetration with part of body/a thing.
He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 4 March, and was bailed to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 1 April.
Detective Inspector Graeme Kehoe urged victims of sexual abuse to report it, emphasizing sensitivity and support from partner organizations like Victim Care Support Service and RASA.
