ABERDEEN MAN ORDERED TO STAY AWAY FROM EX AFTER VERBAL ABUSE AND THREATS
A former Aberdeen law student, Raymond Adibe Chisom, has been found guilty of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards his ex-girlfriend.He was ordered to stay away from her after subjecting her to a campaign of verbal abuse and false accusations over a span of more than a year.
The court heard that between December 2017 and March 2019, Adibe Chisom accused his former partner of having affairs, lying, and sleeping with other men, as well as taking drugs.
He would often shout at her, call her an imbecile, and demand she admit to being unfaithful, even when she was not.
The woman felt unable to leave her home due to fears of further recriminations.
She further disclosed that he frequently turned up at her house with accusations and demands for her to confess to lies.
Adibe Chisom was charged with one count of threatening and abusive behavior, as well as breaching a court order not to approach her.
The court’s verdict included a fine of £1,000 and a non-harassment order banning him from approaching his ex-partner for two years.
His defense described their relationship as toxic, and his solicitor stated that he wishes to return to Nigeria soon to participate in politics, claiming he is skilled at spinning his version of the situation.
