WOMAN JAILED FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDERS AGAINST TWO PEOPLE
On Thursday, February 19, at Oxford Crown Court, Raquel De Oliveira from Windmill Road, Towersey, Thame, was given a custodial sentence after pleading guilty to multiple charges involving breach of a restraining order and stalking.The 47-year-old woman confessed to violating a stalking protection order and a separate restraining order placed against her former partner.
She also admitted to one count of stalking the same man and breaching another restraining order linked to a different woman.
These offences occurred between October 13 and December 12 of the previous year.
The court heard that De Oliveira had previously violated the restraining order against her ex-partner after their relationship ended in March 2022.
Prosecutor Alexandra Bushell told the court that De Oliveira made numerous calls and sent multiple emails to the man.
She said: "He said all the contact from her is unwanted.
He said he can't move on with his life and feels on edge." A statement from the female victim was read aloud, highlighting her feelings of sadness and distress, as well as her fears of revenge.
She expressed concern over her emotional health and her desire to live peacefully.
The victim stated: "I have been feeling sad and distressed.
I'm concerned the defendant will want revenge against me.
This has impacted my emotional wellbeing.
"I simply want to live my life in peace." It was also revealed that De Oliveira has a criminal record with nine previous convictions spanning 16 offences.
Defense representative Patrick Sharkey highlighted her recent diagnosis of cancer.
Judge Michael Gledhill KC noted the seriousness of her misconduct, commenting: "Something has obviously gone very wrong in your lie to become a complete and utter nuisance.
"This started with the breakdown of your relationship.
You were making a perfect nuisance of yourself.
"You should be ashamed of yourself." De Oliveira was sentenced to two years in prison.
