Grantham man jailed for child sex offences

A man from Grantham, Raimondas Vimbaras, has been sentenced to a two-year jail term after pleading guilty to child sex offences. Vimbaras, aged 21 and residing on Dysart Road, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, 9 August. He was charged with attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child. These incidents occurred during July and August of 2023. The court has now sentenced him to two years in prison. Additionally, he has been issued a sexual harm Prevention Order for ten years and has been registered on the sex offenders' register for the same period. Detective Constable Stewart Humm stated, “This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Lincolnshire, and we will pursue all lines of enquiry to ensure perpetrators are brought to justice. I’d like to thank everyone involved in the case for their work and the bravery of those involved who worked with us in a challenging time.” Police are urging victims of rape or sexual assault to report these crimes promptly, emphasizing that even uncertain cases should be communicated to officers. Support services for victims are also available from various organizations.
