ABERDEEN PERVERT JOKES ABOUT KIDNAPPING AND SHARES CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A man named Rafael Cobacho, a 29-year-old Spanish national and hygiene inspector, appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he admitted to possessing over 1,000 indecent images and videos of children.The court heard that Cobacho had shared child sexual abuse images on an encrypted online chat forum and made disturbing jokes about kidnapping children.
He stated that he "preferred defenceless babies" and expressed that he liked "younger the better" when talking about children to fellow paedophiles on Telegram.
Authorities uncovered a total of 1,036 images and 35 videos on his electronic devices, including pictures of children as young as one month.
Some material was of a sadistic nature involving serious abuse.
The police acted following intelligence from the National Online Child Abuse Prevention group, leading to a search warrant at Cobacho’s residence.
The images depicted children aged between one month and 14 years, with some involving sadistic abuse.
In court, prosecutor Brian Young described the crimes as "a deplorable catalogue of vile offending" and emphasized that every child in the images was likely a victim of abuse, some of the most serious.
Sheriff William Summers sentenced Cobacho to a community payback order with three years of supervision, an eight-month restriction of liberty order, and ordered him to participate in the Moving Forward program.
He also placed Cobacho on the sex offenders register for five years.
The court highlighted the seriousness of the crimes, condemning the perpetuation of such vile material and stressing that these are not victimless crimes, as each image likely depicts abuse of a real child.
Cobacho accepted responsibility and expressed remorse, but the court made it clear the crimes involved serious harm.
He is now subject to strict conditions aimed at preventing further offending.
