ABERDEEN MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER WOMAN WITHDRAWS CONSENT
A man who committed a sexual assault after the woman withdrew her consent has been sentenced to two years in prison.Piotr Buczynski, aged 30, assaulted a medical student in the garden of a house located on Charles Street in September 2013.
According to the High Court in Edinburgh, the couple was engaged in consensual sex when the woman changed her mind and asked Buczynski to stop.
Despite this, Buczynski continued to abuse her, even as she cried for help, and only stopped after four friends walking nearby arrived to help her.
The court heard the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found covered in blood with torn clothes and debris in her hair when police arrived.
Prosecutor Mark McGuire recounted how the woman had been out with friends and her boyfriend but decided to walk home after a fight.
CCTV footage showed her walking alone until she encountered Buczynski, a stranger.
A witness heard her shouting for Buczynski to stop and calling it rape, which he ignored.
Buczynski admitted to the court that he had raped the woman and expressed remorse.
The judge stated, 'The withdrawal of her consent to the sexual activity must have been obvious – she cried for help.
A custodial sentence must follow.' The sentence was deferred for reports on his character, but ultimately, a two-year prison term was imposed, with the judge emphasizing that only a custodial sentence was appropriate given the circumstances.
