EYNSHAM PAEDOPHILE JAILED AFTER FILMING ABUSE OF CHILDREN
An 18-year jail sentence has been handed down to a paedophile who filmed himself sexually abusing two children.Phillip Seeney, aged 63, of Old Witney Road, Eynsham, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday (February 4) for 16 charges, including one count of rape, six counts of sexual assault, and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
It was disclosed that the 63-year-old had been abusing two young children and recording the abuse on his devices.
The abuse was uncovered when one of the children confided in her mother.
Subsequently, the mother checked Seeney’s laptop, where evidence of the abuse involving the second child emerged.
During sentencing, Judge Hassan Khan sentenced Seeney to 12 years imprisonment with a six-year extension, deeming him a dangerous offender with a high risk of causing serious harm to prepubescent children.
The prosecution revealed that Seeney would take pictures on his phone and 'touch her privates'.
The investigation found numerous indecent photographs of children, including 12 Category A images (some moving), 253 Category B images (some moving), and 160 Category C images (some moving).
He was also charged with possessing a prohibited image of a child and extreme porn.
The court noted that there was no victim impact statement due to the victims being 'extremely traumatised by the events'.
The defendant admitted full responsibility to officers, including access to his devices.
The case reflects a grave violation of trust and a serious sexual offense involving young children, with the judge highlighting the profound grief of the victims' families.
