MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING SCHOOLGIRL AND COLLECTING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
Phillip Oglesby, 62, was jailed for 10 years after he was found to have taken nearly 5,000 images of a schoolgirl, including 680 in the most pornographic category of child pictures.
He bribed her to take part in the sessions, which involved abuse, including making a video of her wearing underwear before she went nude, touching her sexually, and taking explicit photos.
Oglesby pleaded guilty to 13 charges, including sexual activity with a child and taking indecent images.
The court heard he had a screen saver of one of the images on his mobile phone.
Judge Stuart Rafferty QC commented that the child’s life is scarred, and her trust in people has been damaged, stating "That child's life is scarred, potentially irreparably.
Her trust in people has been damaged.
It may never recover, one simply doesn't know." The judge also noted Oglesby showed a flicker of self-righteousness and told him he should feel shame for his actions.
Oglesby was placed on the sex offenders' register and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
