PHILLIP JACKSON FROM WISBOROUGH GREEN SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN BRIGHTON
In a case that has shocked the local community of Wisborough Green, Phillip Jackson has been sentenced to a four-year prison term after being found guilty of serious child sex offences. The offences included the disturbing exchange of indecent photographs with a young girl aged just 12 years old, according to police reports.Jackson, who works as a landscape gardener, was brought before Brighton Crown Court on November 3, where he faced charges of inciting a minor to engage in sexual activities and possessing indecent images of children. The court's verdict resulted in a four-year imprisonment sentence for Jackson, and he will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Additionally, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was imposed, which will remain in effect indefinitely, placing strict restrictions on his access to children and computers.
Authorities revealed that the young girl believed Jackson was a member of a popular pop band. According to a police spokesperson, the investigation uncovered that Jackson had created a fake Facebook profile in 2014, impersonating a band member from ‘Bars and Melody,’ a group that gained fame through ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ The girl, only 12 years old at the time, was deceived into thinking the profile was genuine and initiated contact with Jackson.
The communication between them escalated from Facebook messages to WhatsApp and eventually to Skype. During these exchanges, Jackson sent the girl explicit images of himself and encouraged her to send nude photographs in return. The girl complied, but the online activity was eventually discovered by her mother, who noticed the inappropriate messages and promptly reported the matter to the police.
Further investigations revealed that Jackson’s laptop contained over 500 indecent images of children, a fact that contributed to the severity of his sentencing. The case highlights the dangers of online grooming and the importance of vigilant parental supervision in protecting minors from exploitation and abuse.
