Peter Waring, a resident of Clitheroe, has been sentenced to a 14-year prison term for committing a series of sexual offences spanning over three decades. He admitted to having committed 12 distinct offences against five female victims, all aged 16 or younger at the time of the incidents. The crimes occurred between 1973 and 2007. Peter Waring was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court last Friday and will serve 14 years in prison. Following his release, he will be subject to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Det Sgt Sam Prickett acknowledged the courage of the victims to come forward and provide information, emphasizing that their bravery ensured Waring's incarceration and protecting others. He encouraged women to report sexual offences regardless of how many years have passed, assuring that reports are taken seriously.
