Hounslow Rapist
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Peter Mitchell, a 33-year-old street cleaner from Hounslow, has been sentenced to three years in prison for the sexual abuse of an eight-year-old girl from Chiswick. The court also ordered Mitchell to register on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the public.

According to court records, the incident occurred on August 8th of the previous year, shortly after Mitchell had completed his work shift. On that day, he visited the girl’s residence in Chiswick, where he unexpectedly appeared at her house and proceeded to sit with her while she watched television. During this time, her mother was in the next-door kitchen preparing food, unaware of Mitchell’s presence or intentions.

When the girl’s mother discovered Mitchell in a naked state with her daughter, she was understandably shocked and immediately confronted him. Mitchell pleaded with her not to involve the police, claiming that the incident was a one-time occurrence and that he had never done anything like this before. However, the court was informed of a prior incident in February of the same year, which cast doubt on his claims of innocence.

It was revealed that Mitchell had previously molested the same girl while she was in his care, during a period when her mother was hospitalized. On that occasion, he entered her bedroom under the guise of discussing family pets, which was deemed an inappropriate and manipulative act. The court heard that this earlier incident was also an act of indecent assault.

Mitchell faced multiple charges, including three counts of rape. He denied the rape allegations but admitted to two counts of indecent assault. The prosecution, after reviewing the evidence, decided not to proceed with the rape charges, focusing instead on the indecent assault counts.

Mitchell’s employment history with the Hounslow Council included roles as a general labourer and litter picker, positions he held since August 1999. However, he resigned from his job in December of the previous year, coinciding with the time he was formally charged with the offences.

The court’s verdict underscores the gravity of Mitchell’s actions and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from such predatory behaviour. His sentencing serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing need for vigilance and protective measures within communities like Hounslow and Chiswick.
