THIS SEX OFFENDER BREACHES COURT ORDER AFTER FAILING TO TELL POLICE HE WAS LIVING WITH BABY
Sex offender Peter Lee has breached his court order - after failing to tell police he was living with a 12-month-old baby. The 54-year-old has already served a two-year prison sentence and is on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years after being jailed in 2017 for sexually assaulting an adult.
The order means he has to tell the police within three days if he lives in the same house as a child and has to complete an annual registration every year.
But he failed on both counts and has now been hauled before Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Police went to his house and found a woman and her 12-month-old son who had been there for two months.
Lee was interviewed and claimed she was a friend needing somewhere to stay.
He was aware of the registration rules but had not done so.
The second breach was failing to complete the annual registration by July 6.
An officer called him and he registered on July 10.
Lee later admitted he did not realize he was overdue.
Lee, from Comet Avenue, Milehouse, pleaded guilty to two charges of failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders’ Register.
Mitigating Barry White said: “He is very sorry.” He was sentenced to a 12-month community order and 100 hours of unpaid work for these breaches.
