PETER LAZARIDES FROM WESTON-SUPER-MARE SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN BRISTOL
Peter Lazarides, a resident of Weston-super-Mare, was formally convicted at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday, 22 May, following a comprehensive trial that began earlier in the month on Monday, 12 May. The court proceedings revealed a disturbing pattern of criminal behavior spanning from 2017 to 2020, involving four young victims. Lazarides faced a total of 20 charges related to his heinous actions, of which he was found guilty on 16 counts. The charges against Lazarides included a range of serious sexual offenses. These encompassed causing a child to observe a sexual act, engaging in sexual activities in the presence of minors, inciting children to participate in sexual acts, sexually assaulting young victims, and exposing himself to children. The court heard that over a period of three years, Lazarides systematically exploited his young victims by making them watch pornography, encouraging them to perform sexual acts on him, and physically assaulting them.
The initial reports of these crimes emerged in January 2022, prompting an investigation that eventually uncovered additional victims who came forward in 2024 and 2025. The evidence presented during the trial painted a disturbing picture of Lazarides’s predatory behavior, which caused significant harm to the children involved.
Following his conviction, Lazarides was sentenced on the same day to serve a term of 10 years in prison. The court’s decision underscores the severity of his offenses and the impact on the victims. The case highlights the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect children from such predatory individuals, especially in communities like Weston-super-Mare where Lazarides resided.
