Bradford Sexual Abuser
An elderly woman was subjected to a sexual assault while she was a patient at Bradford Royal Infirmary, an incident that has sent shockwaves through the local community. The attacker, identified as Peter Dzudza, a 28-year-old man known to have a history of drug use and schizophrenia, carried out the assault in a private cubicle within the hospital premises.

According to court records, Dzudza committed this disturbing act while the woman was waiting for an X-ray, a routine medical procedure. The assault took place in a secluded area of the hospital, raising serious concerns about patient safety and security protocols in place at the facility.

Following a detailed hearing at Bradford Crown Court, Dzudza was sentenced to 27 months in prison in September. The court proceedings shed light on the troubling background of the offender, highlighting his mental health issues and substance abuse problems, which may have contributed to his actions.

In response to the incident, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust announced a significant increase in security measures. The trust has invested an additional £250,000 to bolster safety protocols across the hospital. As part of these measures, staff members are now equipped with body-worn cameras to ensure better protection for both patients and healthcare workers.

The hospital authorities have also reiterated their commitment to safeguarding patients by reminding staff to be vigilant and to challenge anyone attempting to enter the hospital premises without a valid reason. This incident has prompted widespread questions about the effectiveness of existing safeguarding protocols, with a council member calling for greater transparency regarding the measures being implemented to prevent similar breaches in the future.
