In a case that has shocked the local community of Great Bentley and the surrounding areas near Ipswich, Essex, a 56-year-old music teacher named Peter Clayton has been sentenced to six months in prison after admitting to engaging in a sexual relationship with a teenage student at an independent school close to Ipswich.Clayton, who was married and had a long-standing career in education spanning 38 years, was found to have exchanged numerous explicit text messages with the girl, which eventually led to physical acts of intimacy.

Prosecutor Hugh Vass, presenting the case at Ipswich Crown Court, detailed how Clayton’s misconduct came to light.
