PETER CLAYTON OF GREAT BENTLEY JAILED FOR SEXUAL AFFAIR WITH TEENAGE PUPIL NEAR IPSWICH
In a case that has shocked the local community of Great Bentley and the surrounding areas near Ipswich, Essex, a 56-year-old music teacher named Peter Clayton has been sentenced to six months in prison after admitting to engaging in a sexual relationship with a teenage student at an independent school close to Ipswich.Clayton, who was married and had a long-standing career in education spanning 38 years, was found to have exchanged numerous explicit text messages with the girl, which eventually led to physical acts of intimacy. Clayton pleaded guilty to four counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child while in a position of trust. The court heard that the relationship persisted for a brief period even after the girl had left school, which compounded the severity of the case.
