A 77-year-old resident of Brentwood, Essex, has been handed a community order after admitting to charges related to the possession of indecent photographs of children.

The incident dates back to 2014, when Peter Chubb was discovered to have stored images depicting boys aged between 10 and 14 years old.

During the court proceedings, the seriousness of the images was emphasized, leading to a sentence that includes several strict conditions aimed at monitoring and rehabilitating the offender.

Chubb is now required to undergo supervision, adhere to internet restrictions to prevent access to further inappropriate material, and participate in sex offender rehabilitation programmes.

Furthermore, the court mandated that Chubb must register as a sex offender for a period of ten years and sign the sex offenders register, ensuring ongoing monitoring and accountability.
