POLICE OFFICER FOUND GUILTY OF ASSAULTING WOMAN IN RHUDDLAN
On July 9, Mold Crown Court convicted PC Thomas Coppack, a 31-year-old police officer from Colwyn Bay residing on Abergele Road, of assaulting a woman named Anni Owen during an incident in Rhuddlan on December 3, 2023.
He was found guilty of the assault but acquitted of deliberately strangling her.
During the investigation, he was suspended from duty and released on bail until his sentencing scheduled for August 13.
He was also instructed not to contact Ms Owen or visit a particular address in Rhuddlan.
The deputy chief constable of North Wales Police acknowledged the court's decision and highlighted the importance of supporting victims of violence against women and girls.
