MAN JAILED FOR SIX MONTHS FOR MAKING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A 75-year-old man has been incarcerated for possessing a large number of indecent images of children, with police uncovering thousands of such pictures stored on his electronic devices.On Thursday, June 4, Paul Yate of Main Road, Clenchwarton, appeared in Norwich Crown Court, where he was sentenced to six months imprisonment after admitting to three counts of creating indecent images of minors.
He was also issued with a sexual harm prevention order effective for ten years and was added to the sex offenders' register.
Yate was taken into custody in September 2023 at his home after his IP address was linked to images depicting child abuse.
During the process, multiple electronic devices were seized from his residence and found to contain nearly 4,500 indecent images of children, classified from Category A to Category C.
Although Yate initially denied the charges, he later pleaded guilty during legal proceedings.
