PAEDOPHILE PAUL SAUNDERS OF BLACKBIRD LEYS SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN OXFORD CROWN COURT
In a case that has shocked the local community of Blackbird Leys, Oxford, Paul Saunders has been sentenced to a five-year prison term after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a vulnerable teenage girl.The offences spanned a period of three years, during which Saunders repeatedly targeted his young victim, exploiting her age and circumstances.
Paul Saunders, a 47-year-old resident of Furlong Close in Blackbird Leys, faced a series of charges at Oxford Crown Court.
These charges included engaging in sexual activity with a minor, producing indecent images of a child, and two counts of sexual assault.
Saunders did not contest the allegations, and his guilty plea was accepted by the court.
The crimes took place between 2006 and 2009, a period during which the victim was aged between 15 and 17 years old.
The disturbing nature of the case was brought to light after Saunders’s previous conviction for benefit fraud, which resulted in an eight-week jail sentence handed down in May of the previous year.
It was during this period of incarceration that his partner discovered a series of photographs of the young girl on his mobile phone, raising suspicions and prompting further investigation.
Prosecutor Sam Mainds detailed the case to the court, emphasizing the repeated and predatory nature of Saunders’s actions.
The evidence uncovered painted a troubling picture of a man who exploited a minor over an extended period, causing significant harm to the victim.
Judge Julian Hall, presiding over the case, sentenced Saunders to five years in prison.
Additionally, he ordered Saunders to be registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life, a measure intended to monitor and restrict his activities upon release.
