ABERDEEN MAN BANNED FROM KEEPING DOGS AFTER ATTACK AND NEGLECT
Robertson was banned from keeping animals for five years after his pitbull-type dog, Ozzy, escaped and attacked a woman and her dog.
On 5 December 2024, the woman was walking her dog, Spike, in the Donmouth area of Aberdeen when Ozzy attacked them.
The woman was hospitalised overnight with hand lacerations after attempting to free her dog from Ozzy’s jaws.
The extent of injuries suffered by Spike has not been reported and it’s not known if he survived.
Following the incident, police discovered Robertson’s home at Donmouth Court, Bridge of Don, in an “appalling” state.
Reports described the property as littered with faeces, rotting food, and broken furniture, rendering it unfit for humans or animals.
A second dog, an American Bully named Bungo, was found barricaded in the kitchen.
Robertson admitted to keeping both dogs in these unsanitary conditions.
Sheriff Joseph Platt placed him under a two-year community payback order with supervision, citing the need to address the defendant’s mental health and drug misuse issues.
**Sentencing |** Two-year community payback order.
The court ordered the humane destruction of Ozzy.
Disqualified from keeping animals for five years (expires February 2031).
