PAUL NORMAN OF VENTNOR SENTENCED TO THREE YEARS AND INDEFINITE REGISTRATION FOR SEX OFFENCES IN PORTSMOUTH

In December 2006, Paul James Norman, 47, of Spring Hill, Ventnor, was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court to three years in prison for nine sexual offences involving children. Norman admitted to the charges, which were committed between January and August of that year.
Mr. Recorder Peter Towler sentenced Norman to two concurrent terms of three years each for two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Additionally, Norman received two concurrent 12-month sentences for two more counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Further, two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child resulted in two 12-month concurrent sentences, along with an 18-month concurrent sentence for another similar charge.
The court also imposed sentences of 12 months and six months, to run concurrently, for two counts of sexually touching a child. Norman has been permanently banned from working with children and has been placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
