In a case that has shocked the local community, Paul Jones, a resident of Hirwaun, has been handed a community order after authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of over 20,000 indecent images of children.

The investigation revealed that Jones had been involved in the illegal activity over a span of more than a decade, with images being downloaded from the year 2001 through 2014.

Among the illicit material found were photographs depicting children as young as five years old, highlighting the disturbing nature of his offenses.

The court identified that a significant portion of the images, totaling 1,752, were classified at the highest severity level, indicating the most serious category of child exploitation material.
