ABERDEEN MAN SENTENCED FOR DISTURBING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
A man named Paul Gibson has been handed a supervision order after being found in possession of extremely disturbing child pornography involving a boy estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old.
The police executed a search warrant in Gibson's home located on Cameron Road in Aberdeen during December.
Officers from the cybercrime unit seized his phone, which was later examined, revealing a highly relevant indecent image preview.
Gibson was taken into custody and was interviewed under caution at Kittybrewster station, during which he responded with a 'no comment' stance.
The investigation uncovered two videos stored on Gibson's Samsung phone featuring indecent images of children; the first categorized as the most severe (category A) depicted a boy aged between 2 and 4 engaging in sexual acts with an adult.
The second (category B) included female children aged 7 to 14 involved in sexual acts with other minors.
Gibson admitted to taking, permitting to be taken, or creating indecent images or pseudo-images of children between March 18, 2020, and December 10, 2020.
Additionally, he possessed indecent images of children within the same timeframe.
The court sentenced him to a six-month supervision order aimed at education and preventing reoffending, along with mandatory notification requirements for six months under the Sexual Offences Act.
