Wishaw Domestic Abuser
Paul Christison, aged 27, was involved in a fire-setting incident in Hamilton. He deliberately set fire to his ex-partner's Vauxhall vehicle following a disagreement involving his sister. Witnesses observed the car ignite and burst into flames in the early hours of March 6 last year, with Christison seen fleeing the scene. The fire completely destroyed the vehicle, as detailed in court proceedings held remotely on a Friday. Christison admitted to intentionally causing the blaze. The court was told that after a dispute with a woman and his sister, Christison purchased fuel at a garage and filled a can. He left his homeless shelter around midnight and returned after 1 am, with CCTV footage showing him driving around. Additionally, Christison confessed to assaulting a man outside a homeless unit in December 2020 and threatening a woman with a knife at a residence on May 1 last year. Since sentencing was postponed pending further reports, Christison was remanded in custody. The court indicated that the case would continue next month.
