PAUL BROWN FROM OKEHAMPTON JAILED FOR RAPE AND VOYEURISM DURING BOGUS MODEL SHOOTS IN DEVON
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Okehampton and the wider Devon area, Paul Brown, a 41-year-old photographer, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for a series of heinous crimes committed over a span of several years.Brown was convicted at Exeter Crown Court on multiple counts of sexual assault, including 15 rapes against six women, as well as charges of voyeurism involving five other victims.
Brown’s criminal activities came to light after a detailed investigation into his conduct, which revealed a pattern of deception and exploitation.

Brown lured women into his studio under false pretenses, claiming they could secure modelling opportunities if they participated in casting sessions.

During the court proceedings, Judge David Evans described Brown as “a compulsive liar and fantasist,” emphasizing the danger posed by his manipulative nature.
The judge further remarked, “You are also that very dangerous thing, an extremely convincing and persuasive liar,” highlighting the extent of Brown’s deceitful tactics.
Brown’s crimes spanned from 2012 to 2018, during which he targeted women ranging in age from their late teens to their 60s.
His modus operandi involved establishing a fake modelling agency called Models South West, which he falsely claimed had no connection to him.
Through this sham agency, Brown contacted aspiring models via Facebook, enticing them with promises of potential careers in the industry.
Once they arrived at his studio, he would persuade some to engage in sexual acts on camera, under the guise of “artistic nude” sessions, while others were coerced into stripping for his personal gratification.
In addition to the sexual assaults, Brown pleaded guilty to a voyeurism charge, admitting to installing a hidden camera in a bathroom to spy on a woman.
This act of invasion of privacy further underscores the extent of his criminal behavior.
Brown’s sentencing reflects the gravity of his offenses and the harm inflicted upon his victims.
