PAUL ABSON OF CITY AGBRIGG ADMITS TO HAVING 4,200 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In July 2012, an Agbrigg man named Paul Christopher Abson, aged 33, admitted to possessing a total of 4,200 indecent images and videos featuring children.
During a hearing at Wakefield Magistrates’ Court, it was revealed that Abson's case was too grave for the magistrates to handle, and he was consequently committed to Leeds Crown Court for sentencing.
Abson, residing on Church Road, pleaded guilty to 22 charges related to the creation of indecent images.
Prosecutor Jill Seddon stated that over 400 of these images were classified in the most severe categories of child pornography.
The court also learned that nearly 3,000 images fell into the least serious level of classification.
Defence lawyer John Nixon confirmed that all charges had been admitted and entered guilty pleas.
Abson is due to be sentenced later this year by a judge.
He was granted bail under the condition that he must not have any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16.
