PATRICK STOKES FROM WEST RAINTON INVOLVED IN HORRIFIC PUPPY CRUELTY ON M6 AND CHELTENHAM
Patrick Stokes, a man from West Rainton, has been at the center of a disturbing case involving the illegal transportation and neglect of puppies across the UK. Born on June 1, 1996, Stokes, who resides at the caravan site on Adventure Lane in West Rainton, Houghton-le-Spring, DH4 6PW, was found guilty of heinous animal cruelty that spanned across several locations, including the notorious transport routes on the M6 and the town of Cheltenham.On August 22, 2020, police stopped Stokes’s unventilated van on the M6 while he was en route from Cheltenham to Stoke-on-Trent. Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered a distressing scene: 44 puppies crammed into three small crates measuring approximately 4 feet by 3 feet. The puppies, which included breeds such as Beagles, Border Collies, Chihuahuas, and a Shih Tzu, were found to be severely malnourished and dehydrated. The conditions were so dire that immediate veterinary intervention was necessary, with some puppies requiring urgent care. Tragically, 20 of these puppies did not survive the journey.
The police investigation was triggered by a concerned member of the public in Cheltenham. The individual had observed suspicious activity involving two men transferring puppies between vans on Stancombe Lane, Charlton Kings. The witness reported hearing loud whimpering noises emanating from the vehicles and saw the men moving between them. She challenged the men, took photographs, and informed the police.
