STANLEY SEX OFFENDER FINED FOR FAILING TO REGISTER
A County Durham man has been fined for failing to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders register.
Patrick Mongan, 38, of Tower Road, Greencroft, near Stanley, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on September 26.
The court heard that on October 14, 2024, Mongan, who is required to register under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, did not attend his annual registration at the police station in Stanley, County Durham.
Mongan pleaded not guilty but was found guilty following a trial.
Magistrates fined Mongan £300.
He was also ordered to pay £650 in prosecution costs.
