IRISH MAN, 41, CAUGHT BY UK PAEDO HUNTERS, SERVED TIME FOR CHILD EXPLOITATION, NOW LIVING IN CLARE
A PERVERT who was caught by paedo hunters from the UK has returned to the west of Ireland. The Irish Sun can reveal Patrick McInerney, 41, is now living in Co Clare after his release from prison two weeks ago.
He was freed from prison after he was caged for three years, with the last 18 months suspended, in March 2024 for using information technology to facilitate the sexual exploitation of a child, sending explicit material and engaging in offensive conduct of a sexual nature in February 2023.
The sicko - who is on the sex offenders register until 2033 - was only caught after two women in the UK posed as two 14-year-old girls.
McInerney, who has been keeping a low profile since his release from prison, sent explicit images and made obscene videos.
But he was caught when the women - who were part of a group who acted as decoys to catch perverts targeting children - told Gardai of an arranged meeting.
On the day of the meeting, McInerney’s phone was seized and Gardai recovered the offensive material.
Some of his exchanges were made over Facebook.
And he also sent explicit images to another woman who was selling puppies online.
During his court case last year, the perv pleaded guilty to the offences.
He has been on the sex offenders register until 2033.
One source said: “McInerney has kept his head down in prison and is now out a bit early.
He told prison officers he was a changed man and would no longer be using social media.” Before his sentencing, Judge Martin Nolan described the videos as “obscene in nature” and how he “undoubtedly deserves to go to prison.” Patrick McInerney is now living in Co Clare after his release from prison two weeks ago.
