SUPPORT WORKER CONVICTED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT IN ABERDEEN GETS STRUCK OFF
Olaoluwa Olugbodi, working as a support worker at a care home for adults in Aberdeen, has been struck off the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) register following his conviction for sexual assault of two female colleagues. The offences occurred last year and led to him causing significant 'serious distress and upset' among his colleagues.
The court convicted him on February 18 of two sexually motivated offenses, after which the SSSC deemed it highly likely his behavior would harm the reputation of the social services profession if no action was taken.
The investigation detailed that Olugbodi seized and embraced one woman multiple times between February 8 and March 5, 2021, also pressing his body against her and kissing her on the mouth.
He also attempted to and succeeded in kissing a second woman on multiple occasions within the same period and touched her on the body.
His misconduct was characterized as a serious breach of trust, and he reportedly showed no remorse or insight into his actions.
The SSSC considered the serious nature of his convictions and a pattern of sexual misconduct, concluding that there was a risk of recurrence that could cause serious harm, and therefore has removed him from the register, effectively ending his ability to practice as a support worker.
