NIGEL FIDDAMENT'S HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IMAGE HAUL IN LUTTERWORTH
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Lutterworth, Nigel Fiddament, a man aged 63, was found to be in possession of an extensive collection of illegal and deeply disturbing child abuse images and videos.The police executed a raid on his residence in Lutterworth in January of the previous year, uncovering a horrifying trove of illicit material stored on his computer.
During the search, officers discovered a computer concealed behind a curtain in Fiddament’s bedroom, which was loaded with over 10,000 illegal files.
Among these were approximately 200 videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, with most victims estimated to be between five and ten years old.
The content included graphic videos of children being raped by adults, a revelation that deeply distressed the officers and the court.
In addition to the videos, investigators found that the computer contained images of a woman engaging in sexual acts with a horse, highlighting the depravity of the material stored on the device.
The machine was equipped with file-sharing software, which could have allowed other paedophiles to access around 4,000 of the illicit files, further spreading the harmful content within the online community of offenders.
Detectives also uncovered two pieces of software designed specifically to erase the hard drives, indicating an attempt by Fiddament to conceal his activities.
As the officers conducted the raid, they observed that the computer was actively downloading an additional 300 files, suggesting ongoing illegal activity at the time of the search.
This was not Fiddament’s first encounter with the law regarding such offenses.
In 2016, he was previously sentenced to 18 months in prison after police found 6,219 illegal images on his home computer.
Despite this prior conviction, he continued his disturbing activities, leading to his re-arrest and subsequent prosecution.
Today, Judge Sandeep Kainth sentenced Fiddament to a further 18 months behind bars.
The judge expressed his profound disgust at the nature of the crimes, stating, “These are grotesque offences.
You enjoy watching children being raped.
You derive sexual gratification from that.” He added, “Even to read a description of the films makes my own stomach churn, and I have been dealing with sex offenders for more than 25 years.
The children—aged from five to ten years—are the victims, and only God knows what the impact will be on them.” The case underscores the ongoing battle against child exploitation and the importance of relentless law enforcement efforts to combat such heinous crimes, especially in communities like Lutterworth where residents are now grappling with the shocking details of Fiddament’s actions.
