NICKY HUTSON FROM HARWICH SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
In July 2019, a disturbing case involving Nicky Hutson from Harwich culminated in his being placed behind bars following a series of criminal acts related to the possession and viewing of indecent images of children.On July 27, 2018, authorities from the Police Online Investigation Team acted swiftly after receiving intelligence that led them to Hutson’s residence.
Less than an hour before their arrival, Hutson had accessed and viewed indecent images and videos of minors, an act that was discovered during the investigation.
When officers executed a search warrant at Hutson’s home, they seized a mobile device that was later examined in detail.
The forensic analysis revealed that the phone contained multiple storage applications holding a total of 157 indecent images and videos depicting children.
Among these, 94 were classified as the most serious category, known as Category A, indicating the highest level of severity and harm.
Following the investigation, Hutson faced multiple charges, including three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving an animal.
He did not contest the charges and pleaded guilty to all counts.
His case was brought before Chelmsford Crown Court, where he was sentenced on July 2, 2019.
The court handed down a sentence of 12 months’ imprisonment, reflecting the gravity of his offenses.
Additionally, Hutson was subjected to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes strict restrictions on his activities to prevent further harm.
Furthermore, he was registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety measures.
This case underscores the serious legal consequences faced by individuals involved in the possession and distribution of child exploitation material, and highlights the vigilance of law enforcement agencies in tackling such heinous crimes.
