NICKOLAS HALL FROM ELOUGHTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGE OFFENSES IN HULL
In May 2018, a disturbing case unfolded involving Nickolas Hall, a 53-year-old man from Elloughton, who was found to have been involved in the possession and distribution of highly disturbing images depicting child abuse.The incident came to light after authorities received information about a user uploading a Category C indecent image of a child on the messaging platform 'KIK'.
This information was traced back to an email address associated with Hall, which subsequently led police to his residence in Elloughton.
A month after the initial tip, officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) visited Hall's home on Harland Road and arrested him on suspicion of possessing and sharing indecent images of children.
During the investigation, Hall admitted to three charges of possession and three charges of distribution related to such material.
Prosecutor Stephen Welch outlined the severity of the images involved, which included a child aged between three and five being held face down and raped, as well as a girl aged between eight and ten being subjected to sexual assault.
The images were classified into categories, with Hall possessing two Category A images—the most extreme—and four Category B images, along with 54 images in Category C.
Furthermore, Hall had distributed nine Category A images, four Category B images, and nine Category C images.
When questioned about his actions, Hall told his wife, “It’s porn, that porn.
I’ve been a silly old fool.
It’s life over.
It just is.
That’s it.
Life over.” Initially, he refused to comment during police interviews but later made full and frank admissions.
When asked if he had searched for indecent images of under-18s, Hall responded affirmatively, saying, “Yes, that.” Throughout the court proceedings at Hull Crown Court, Hall’s behavior was visibly distressed.
He was seen crying in the dock as his lawyer, Paul Norton, presented a letter from Hall’s wife, which was described as eloquent testimony to his qualities as a husband and father.
Judge David Tremberg sentenced Hall to a year in prison and imposed a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.
Additionally, Hall is required to register as a sex offender for the same period, reflecting the serious nature of his offenses and the ongoing risk posed by such conduct.
