This image was part of a collection of illicit material he had downloaded and shared, which included a total of 268 videos and photographs, some of the most severe category, depicting the abuse of very young children, including infants. Additionally, he took a picture of the girl and her sister from the family’s Facebook page and sent it to his online associates, further demonstrating his malicious intent.
The police investigation was able to identify the victims through the school uniforms they were wearing in the images. The family, however, was completely unaware of the assault until Stansfield confessed during an interview. He pleaded guilty and was subsequently sentenced at Exeter Crown Court by Judge David Evans to two years and six months in prison. The court also ordered that he be placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and imposed a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits him from contacting children and restricts his internet usage.
