NICHOLAS HILL FROM BLACKLEY AND BRANSTON EXPOSED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN LINCOLNSHIRE AND MANCHESTER

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the medical community and the public alike, Dr. Nicholas Hill, a psychiatrist with connections to Blackley and Branston, has been formally struck off the medical register following a series of heinous crimes involving child pornography. The case, which unfolded over several years, highlights the severity of his offenses and the failure of previous oversight to prevent further misconduct.

Dr. Hill, aged 40, was found to have downloaded an alarming total of over 11,000 indecent images of children from the internet. These images ranged across various levels of seriousness, with some classified at the highest levels of depravity. The discovery was made after police conducted a search of his former residence in Lincoln, where they uncovered computer files containing the illicit material. The investigation was triggered after Hill was caught attempting to film women’s skirts covertly in a shop using a camera hidden inside a bag, an incident that led to his arrest.

Following his arrest, authorities also searched his property in Lincoln and found a disturbing collection of digital files. The police confirmed that the files contained a total of 11,353 indecent images of children, a number that underscores the extent of his illegal activities. The case was brought before a Manchester hearing, where Hill was found guilty of serious professional misconduct. The hearing took place on a Thursday, and the verdict was delivered after a thorough review of his actions and past convictions.

Previously, Hill had a criminal record dating back to 2000, when he was convicted of six similar charges related to child pornography. At that time, he was sentenced to probation, and a further 80 charges were left on file, effectively suspended. During that period, Hill claimed to be suffering from depression, and the GMC’s response was limited to requiring him to seek treatment for clinical depression, rather than imposing more severe sanctions.

However, the recent findings and the sheer volume of images discovered on his computer prompted the General Medical Council to take decisive action. Miss Jane Sutherland, representing the GMC, stated that the judge in Hill’s previous case described him as having a deviant sexual interest in children. She emphasized that the images found were stored at various levels of seriousness, with some at the highest levels of depravity, indicating a pattern of ongoing offending.

In May of this year, Hill was sentenced to two years in prison, with an additional three years of probation. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender, a measure intended to monitor his activities and prevent further harm. Despite the gravity of his crimes, Hill chose not to attend the recent disciplinary hearing and was unrepresented during the proceedings. The panel, chaired by Mr. John Shaw, condemned his actions, noting that such offenses severely undermine public trust in the medical profession and pose a serious threat to societal confidence.

In conclusion, the case of Nicholas Hill serves as a stark reminder of the importance of rigorous oversight and the need for strict sanctions against professionals who abuse their positions of trust. The GMC’s decision to strike him off the medical register reflects the seriousness with which such violations are regarded, and it underscores the ongoing battle against child exploitation and abuse.
