NICHOLAS FROST, SCHOOL TEACHER FROM NORTHAMPTON, JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF UNDERAGE GIRL
In February 2011, Nicholas Frost, a 46-year-old primary school teacher from Northampton, was sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to multiple sexual offenses involving a young former pupil.Frost, who was found to have a bizarre fetish triggered by an underage ex-student, attempted to take his own life upon learning that his victim intended to report him to the authorities and reveal years of sexual misconduct.
During proceedings at Northampton Crown Court, it was revealed that police had to postpone Frost's interview in December after he overdosed on paracetamol.
Prosecutor Stuart Alford stated that the victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, approached the police to disclose that Frost had subjected her to sexual assaults.
Alford remarked, “On the face of it, this is a man with some psychiatric issues.” Frost, of Birchfield Road, Abington, pleaded guilty to five charges of sexual activity with a child and was consequently sentenced to four years in prison.
His teaching career has been irrevocably ended, as he has been barred from working with children or having unsupervised contact with minors, and his name has been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Judge Ian Alexander QC commented on the case, stating, “Frost’s offences were clearly driven by sexual desire,” and noted that the abuse was aggravated by its nature.
He added, “It is apparent to me from observing you in the dock that you are full of shame and remorse about your behaviour.
Whether the shame you are exhibiting is because of embarrassment or remorse is difficult for me to tell.
But it does seem to me that it is really too little, too late.” A Northamptonshire County Council spokesperson declined to specify which schools Frost had taught at.
She confirmed, “He was suspended as soon as we became aware of the allegations and was dismissed from the supply teaching register on January 1.”
