Niall Harte, aged 24, accused his girlfriend of infidelity, demanding to identify the alleged lover and threatening to physically assault her to extract information.
Previously on a suspended sentence, Harte was detained this week after pleading guilty to charges including harassment involving threats of violence and damage to property.
Leeds Crown Court was informed that the couple had been in a relationship for two years and shared a child.
In March, during an incident when the woman took their child to the hospital, Harte became verbally aggressive and destroyed her large-screen television.
Harte, of Broadway, Kirkstall, received a 21-month prison sentence following his admission to harassment with perceived threats of violence and criminal damage.
His jealousy led him to threaten both his partner and her mother after she attempted to sever ties with him.
