NEIL ANDERSON FROM WHITBURN CAUGHT WITH HUNDREDS OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IMAGES IN LIVINGSTON
In a disturbing case heard at Livingston Sheriff Court, Neil Anderson, aged 33 and residing in Whitburn, was found to be in possession of a large collection of indecent images depicting children. The court was informed that Anderson had accumulated hundreds of both still photographs and video recordings that featured minors engaged in sexualized or provocative poses. The images included deliberately staged photographs of children, some fully clothed, others partially clothed or completely naked, all captured in sexually suggestive contexts. These materials were stored on Anderson’s personal computer, raising serious concerns about his intentions and the potential distribution of such material.
Anderson faced multiple charges, including possessing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children. The offenses were committed at his residence in Whitburn, West Lothian, over a period spanning from March 2005 to May of the previous year. During the court proceedings, Anderson pleaded guilty to the charges of possessing these illicit images.
He also admitted to a separate charge of taking or allowing the taking of indecent images, which further implicated him in the creation or facilitation of such material. However, Anderson’s plea of not guilty to the charge of possessing the images with the intent to show or distribute them to others was accepted by the Crown, indicating that the prosecution did not pursue that particular allegation.
As the case was adjourned for further background reports, the court emphasized the seriousness of the offenses. The sentencing was deferred, pending the preparation of reports that would provide additional context about Anderson’s background and the circumstances surrounding the crimes. The case highlights ongoing concerns about the possession and distribution of child exploitation material and the importance of judicial review in such cases.
