PAEDOPHILE, 24, JAILED AFTER CONTINUING TO OFFEND WHILE WAITING TO BE SENTENCED
A repeat sex offender who continually violated court-imposed restrictions and kept targeting minors has been sentenced to prison.Nathan Uren caught the attention of law enforcement in 2021 after authorities received reports that an indecent image of a child had been uploaded online and traced back to his home address.
Police confiscated his phone, computer, and laptop, discovering indecent images and videos stored on each device.
Further investigation revealed conversations indicating he had shared an image and engaged in sexual chats with children aged between 10 and 15, posing as both himself and as a female child.
While under investigation, Uren, residing on Ypres Drive in Kemsley, continued his offending activities.
In October 2023, he was formally charged with multiple offenses related to sexual communication.
In January 2024, he admitted to creating and sharing indecent images of minors and encouraging another individual to produce such images.
He was released on conditional bail pending sentencing.
During an unannounced search of his home in October last year, officers discovered a mobile phone linked to several social media accounts that used aliases he had failed to disclose to authorities.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with producing indecent photographs of a child and violating sex offender notification requirements, which he later acknowledged in court.
Now 24 years old, Uren was also convicted of engaging in sexual communication with children after a trial in Maidstone Crown Court.
On Tuesday, May 19, he was sentenced to 16 months in prison by the same court.
