DONCASTER STALKER WHO THREATENED TO KILL WOMAN HE MET ONLINE IS JAILED
Nathan Elmsore, aged 22, subjected his victim to nine months of harassment through persistent texts and phone calls, resulting in a seven-year prison sentence.Elsmore, who resides on Urban Road in Hexthorpe, was convicted of stalking that instilled fear of violence.
He was sentenced to an extended term at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday, 7 November.
The court's proceedings revealed that, from October 2022 to July 2023, Elsmore—who previously faced separate convictions for stalking in 2021—repeatedly harassed the woman online.
He used multiple fake social media profiles to send messages that included threats of violence, references to self-harm, and claims of suicidal intent.
Additionally, he sent threatening communications to her friends in an effort to intimidate her further.
Elsmore was also ordered to stay away from the victim for ten years, as part of a restraining order that prevents him from making contact with her directly or through third parties, including social media.
Detective Constable Alexandra Owen, who led the investigation, stated: “Elsmore’s actions have caused serious harm to the victim.
It is only right that he now spends the next seven years of his life behind bars for this horrendous and malicious harassment.
“I commend the victim in this case for her courage throughout the investigation and hope that she will now be able to move on with her life safe with the knowledge that Elsmore is out of harms way.
“I hope that it sends a message to those who intend to insight fear and harm in the lives of others and make their daily lives a misery.
We will bring you to justice and continue to tackle all forms of violence against women and girls.
“If you are being stalked, please do not suffer in silence and please do not be ashamed.
It is always the offender who is to blame.
Speak to someone you trust and report what is happening to you.”
