HULL MAN SENTENCED FOR PRODUCING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
Police discovered disturbing videos and images indicating the presence of actual child victims after receiving information about Nathan Agar's involvement in "fueling" the harm caused to children. The damage inflicted on these young victims, who were exploited during the production of the videos, was described as often lifelong and devastating, as stated during the hearing at Hull Crown Court.
Nathan Agar, 23, from Hornby Grove, east Hull, admitted to three charges of making indecent images of children on August 4, 2022.
Prosecutor Amber Hobson explained that police arrested Agar at his former residence and seized his mobile phone, which contained images dating from October 2018.
Agar claimed he was coerced into sending images to an unknown individual.
The images included 29 indecent videos or images classified in the most serious Category A, along with 10 in Category B and 12 in Category C, none of which was accessible at the time of sentencing.
Searches conducted by Agar included terms like "child porn" and "paedo." During police questioning, Agar remained silent.
Defense lawyer Oliver Shipley noted that Agar had pleaded guilty early in the proceedings before Hull Magistrates' Court and that he had no prior convictions.
Judge John Thackray KC emphasized the young age of the children involved and highlighted that the seriousness of the offences was increased by the large number of victims depicted in the images and videos.
The court was told that Agar was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for half a year, along with 20 days of rehabilitation.
He was also ordered to obey a five-year sexual harm prevention order and to register as a sex offender for five years.
The judge warned Agar that any future offences within the next two years would result in immediate imprisonment, stating, "It's a serious offence.
The trade in indecent images fuels the sexual abuse of children and causes untold harm, often lifelong." He added, "It's not a victimless crime.
These are real victims.
People like Agar are helping to add to the number of victims of sexual abuse.
It must stop, otherwise you will be receiving an immediate custodial sentence." The judge concluded with a stern reminder, "If you commit any offences in the next two years, you will start with eight months and anything else on top.
You must not do this again."
