SOUTH LONDON QURAN TEACHER JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF BOYS
Muhammad Asgar, a resident of Thornton Heath in South London, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for the sexual abuse of two young boys.
He was found guilty at Croydon Crown Court of attempted rape along with four counts of sexual assault.
Asgar worked as a Quran instructor at the Croydon Mosque & Islamic Centre.
His actions inflicted severe psychological trauma on his victims and betrayed the trust placed in him as a religious educator.
He was also cleared of four other charges, which included attempted rape and three sexual assault counts involving a child under 13.
Although he was acquitted of these charges, the victims still have the option to pursue civil legal action for compensation to support their recovery and treatment.
