MOHAMMED SHABIR, ILFORD, SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF NINE-YEAR-OLD BOY IN THE STREET

Ilford Child Sexual Abuser
In July 2017, Mohammed Shabir, a 49-year-old man from Ilford, was sentenced to 10 months in prison at Snaresbrook Crown Court for grooming and sexually abusing a nine-year-old boy in a public street.
The arrest occurred on March 25 when police officers, reviewing CCTV footage from another case in Ilford, observed Shabir with the young boy. Upon closer inspection, they saw him forcing the child to perform a sexual act on him near a parked car.
Detectives actively searched for the victim, who bravely provided a statement recounting the incidents. The child's family is currently receiving support from professionals.
Shabir pleaded guilty to inciting a child to engage in sexual activity on June 29. The judge also ordered that he must register as a sex offender.
